LoRa Gateway Improves the Intelligent Level of Monitoring and Management in the WWTP

With the increasing demand for wastewater treatment, improving the efficiency and quality of wastewater treatment has become the key. To achieve this goal, the collection of water quality, flow rate, temperature and other data has become more and more detailed. These data not only help to monitor the wastewater treatment process in real time, but also provide powerful support for optimizing the process. However, with the meticulous collection of data, the challenges of communication also come along. Traditional communication methods often fail to meet the needs of remote and different places data collection, resulting in delayed and inaccurate data transmission, which affects the efficiency and quality of wastewater treatment. Therefore, finding an efficient and stable communication method has become the key to improving the efficiency and quality of wastewater treatment.

To solve these problems, AVCOMM recommend the LoRa gateway as a solution to realize long-distance, low-power connectivity for IoT communication. By deploying the LoRa gateway to connect with various sensors, actuators and other devices, it can achieve real-time collection, transmission and remote monitoring of data such as water quality, flow rate, temperature, etc., ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of data. In addition, the LoRa gateway can collect data from up to 250 devices, enabling data collection from multiple places, greatly improving the efficiency and quality of wastewater treatment. At the same time, the key product advantages of the LoRa gateway also provide a more stable, reliable and efficient communication method for IoT applications.

Long-distance communication:

The LoRa gateway can communicate over long distances, allowing for communication distances of 3-6 kilometers. In the WWTP, wastewater monitoring points are often widely distributed, requiring long-distance communication capabilities. Using the LoRa gateway ensures that devices can maintain stable communication over long distances

Low power consumption:

The LoRa gateway uses the latest LPWA technology, which can simultaneously meet the needs for coverage and endurance. It provides the longest distance coverage with the minimum power consumption, which helps to save power and the device lifespan can usually reach 5-10 years.

Low cost:

The LoRa gateway enables long-distance communication, reducing the need for wiring and wiring costs. In addition, compared to IoT gateways, the LoRa gateway is superior to the continuously charged NB network of operators, reducing operating costs.

Solution:

LoRa gateway, remote data acquisition:

When PLC needs to use remote IO to collect sensor data, the AVCOMM LoRa gateway AP144-LC can replace remote IO to transmit sensor data to AP100-LM through AP144-LC. Then AP100-LM connects to the PLC through Modbus RTU protocol and finally transmits the data to the host computer. This is the first method.

ATMS, data forwarding and real-time monitoring:

Another method is that when you do not have a PLC, AP100-LM can directly transmit the data to the ATMS cloud platform, which can act as a data collection interface to forward the data directly to the enterprise management platform data center for monitoring.

Low cost, low power consumption, long-distance communication:

Through these two methods, it can greatly save costs and construction, without laying optical cables and cables, and considering long-distance laying and power supply issues. In addition, the LoRa gateway support 3-6 kilometers of long-distance transmission, one AP100-LM can connect up to 250 AP144-LC nodes, while AP144-LC can connect DIDO, AIAO. It is a low-power, low-cost, long-distance transmission integrated gateway product.
